NOVEMBER UPDATES

November 12, 2009

Final Deadline Date is November 30, 2009

For All Family Histories, Stories & Photo Submissions

Your Family's History Is Important To Us

We are rapidly approaching the deadline date for all family histories, stories and photo submissions. If you are interested in including your family in the Scott History Book, you will need to forward your information and photos to us by this date. Due to the overwhelming response, we will not be able to extend the deadline date past November 30, 2009. If this due date is inconvenient for you, please notify us so other arrangements can be made. Email submissions will be accepted until December 15, 2009.

So Don't Let Your Family Be Left Out

To date we have included over 1,000 families. There is no limit to the number of photos that can be used with your family's history and no restriction on the length of the history or articles that you wish to submit. We are asking that all family members be included. We do however, reserve the right to print only the photos we consider suitable, with respect to quality of the image and the image content. Our completion date is set for February 2010.

For those who are requesting a copy of the History Book, order forms will be available after February 1, 2010. There will be a limited quantity of the History Book available so all books must be preordered prior to the book going to press. A deposit will be required only when the order is placed.

We wish to thank all the families who assisted us in the compiling of this book. A special thanks is extended to all who offered their financial support towards the completion of this project. We are as excited as you to see it in print.

Every effort was made to achieve accuracy in facts, dates and details. However, memories are what they are and we wrote them as they were told to us. A great gratitude for sharing all of these memories with us.

A Little Bit About Me

I moved to Scott 11 years ago from the province of British Columbia. My family originated from a small town called Environ, Saskatchewan, near Asquith, so this makes me a "Prairie Girl" at heart. Almost all of my relatives are still living in and around Saskatoon. I came from a family of musicians on my father's side and artists on my mother's. I came out east with the intentions of opening a retail/wholesale business, which was to include a historical museum, an art centre and a gallery, as an outlet for our local artists and craftsmen.

I owned an ad agency and publishing company in Ontario for numerous years before relocating to B.C. The agency published a monthly magazine targeted towards musicians and artists. In total I have over 35 years experience as a graphic and commercial artist.

I am very proficient and versatile when it comes to the industry. I owned and operated two retail/wholesale stores in B.C., as a distributor of fine art materials and supplies; office supplies; craft material and supplies; computer equipment and accessories; and specialized in large format art and photo reproductions. I was an author, publisher and editor for children's books, poetry books, novels, magazines, training manuals and educational literature. The retail outlets offered services for computer repair and computer training classes.

I also have 15 years experience in the film industry, both in Ontario and B.C., in the areas of accounting, production and locations manager, set designer, script writer and editor.

My hobbies include Interior Decorating, Arts and Crafts, Creative Writing and Photography.
